The 12.1 effective megapixel DMC-TZ10 digital camera features a 25mm wide-angle 12x optical zoom f/3.3-4.9 LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens (35mm camera equivalent: 25-300mm) in a compact format. The 25mm wide-angle lens has about twice the shooting area of the standard 35mm lens, and the powerful 12x optical zoom can also be used in movie recording. In 3-megapixel resolution mode, the Extra Optical Zoom extends the zoom power to 234x by using the centre part of the CCD.

Make top quality movies, then watch them on your VIErA TV

The DMC-TZ10 can record HD movies of 720P in AVCHD Lite with the high sound quality of Digital Stereo Creator. AVCHD Lite allows double the recording time of the motion jpeg format with no loss of image quality, and is easier to edit than motion jpeg (motion jpeg format is also available: 1,280 x 720 pixels). Just press the Movie Recording button to start shooting. The iA Mode can also be used in movie recording. Put your SD card into your VIErA TV SD Card slot and use the TV remote control to view your footage.

Travel Mode with GPS to keep track of your photos

You can quickly go into the Travel Mode from the top menu and organise travel-related information. When shooting, the photo location and local time from GPS is recorded in the photo. You can play back via automatic sort and slide show by location. In addition, the TZ10 has P/A/S/M Mode for more creative shots.

The POWER O.I.S. nearly doubles the hand-shake correction power of conventional MEGA O.I.S, allowing you to take beautiful night shots at slow shutter speeds without blurring. Activate POWER O.I.S., Intelligent ISO Control, Face Detection AF/AE with Face Recognition, Intelligent Scene Selector with Sunset Mode, Intelligent Exposure and AF Tracking and the camera will do all the work in the iA Mode.,  New Happy Mode optimises colour saturation and brightness.  for vividly memorable scenes

More zoom with no loss of image quality

The Intelligent Resolution (I.R) Technology gives high resolution to digital zoom images as well as ordinary images. The image is divided into contour, texture and smooth areas, with optimum image processing applied to each one. This enables 16x Intelligent Zoom to achieve about 1.3 times the usual zoom magnification with almost no loss of image quality. The Intelligent Resolution Technology also achieves sharp images in modes that use fewer pixels to enable high sensitivity and high speed.
