In the real world...

With your poken you instantly connect with new friends across online social networks when and where you meet them.





At any computer with web access...


The poken hand pulls out of the body, revealing a USB connector. Insert the USB connector into any computer with web access to easily upload your new contacts to the Poken web database.



 

You choose which of your social network profiles you would like to share with people when you meet them in the real world.

A small logo of each social network you choose is displayed as a link on your « Poken Card ,» which shows only your most basic information. Your contacts can view your Poken Card on doyoupoken.com, but, if they want to see more, they only have to click the logo to see your profile on the social networking site you’ve chosen to share.

On the Poken site you and your friends can view your contacts alphabetically, or chronologically in your "social timeline." You can also send messages, group contacts with a label, write notes for yourself about each contact, and so much more.




We’re not another social network. You’ve already got that.

We've thought bigger to let you instantly bridge the gap between the people you meet in the real world and those you stay connected to online.

So, do you poken ?

Connect to Friends


To connect to a friend, simply do a "high-four" with the two pokens' little hands. You will feel a magnetic pull between the hands when they are properly aligned: palm-to-palm. The data communication lasts about one second, so you can pull them apart after 1 or 2 seconds.

The pokens' palms glow green if the connection is successful. If they glow red, then there has been an error. In that case, simply high-four them again for a few seconds.

Touch your poken to as many friends as you'd like to share your online social network profile(s).

Even if you've already connected with someone, it's worth high-fouring your friends every time you hang out with them. You'll be able to view all your social interactions in a timeline. The Poken high-four can become your new greeting. You can then keep track of when and how often you and your friends hang out.

Activate Your Poken


First, pull the body away from the hand to reveal the USB connector.

Then, pull away the plastic tab to activate the poken.

Part of the arm will blink red for a few seconds to confirm proper activation.

Your poken is now active. There is no on/off switch. You can use it anytime by just "high-fouring" another poken.

Glow Poken

What is your poken telling you with its incandescent palm?

Your poken can store up to 64 contacts. Each time you successfully poken the little palm will glow green. It will blink red if you did not poken successfully, in which case, just wait a few seconds for the glowing to disappear and try again.

When you have four or less contacts left to store on your poken the palm will glow orange after you've pokened.

Once you exceed 64 contacts, the poken palm will glow red each time you poken (note: this is different from when it blinks red to let you know that you did not connect successfully). Each Poken contact after the 64th will be saved, but it replaces the first contact stored on your poken. Not so cool...

So just avoid all that and upload your contacts before exceeding the limit and you can be sure not to lose anyone.

And, for a little surprise straight from the palm of your poken's hand press the palm button for three seconds...groovy.
