Epson EMP-TW1000
Home Theatre Projectors
Experience the ultimate performance in true digital high definition home cinema
Introducing one of the world's most advanced and powerful digital projectors for the home cinema. Incorporating a range of enhanced and new technologies, the Epson EMP–TW1000 delivers industry leading 1080p output — for over 2.07 million pixels — and incredible image quality from the latest Blue–Ray and HD–DVD players. It's the ultimate projector for the ultimate home cinema experience.
12000:1 High Contrast Ratio

Delivering maximum image display quality
When it comes to delivering optimum image display quality, colour, brightness and contrast ratio are the key determining factors — and the EMP-TW1000 delivers on all three.
With a groundbreaking contrast ratio of 12000:1, the EMP-TW1000 projects bright scenes with ultra bright whites, and dark scenes with rich blacks. Underpinning the projector's ability to regulate the brightness and contrast of every scene are the advanced Auto Iris function and Crystal Clear Fine Full High Definition 3LCD panel technology.
Using the Auto Iris function, the EMP-TW1000 controls and adjusts lamp brightness levels 60 times every second. When the projector is displaying a light scene, the iris is opened to allow more light to pass through to the LCD panels, resulting in a bright image. For dark scenes, the iris opening is reduced, delivering richer blacks than are possible with less advanced systems.
Unique light–efficient lamp technology — E–TORL

Brilliant light efficiency
When Epson released the innovative and incredibly efficient E–TORL (Epson Twin Optimised Reflection Lamp) technology, it quite literally cast an entirely new light on the world of home cinema; and with the EMP-TW1000 that new light is all about image quality.
Designed to minimise light leakage — a primary cause of lamp inefficiency — and minimise light diffraction, E–TORL lamps are so small and efficient as to be well ahead of their time. With E–TORL lamps, a combination of an ellipsoidal reflector, spherical lens and hemispherical mirror delivers optimum light efficiency with minimal power consumption and heat generation.
Cinema Filter

Wider colour space and superior colour purity
An inherent feature in all Epson Home Cinema projectors is a uniquely designed Cinema Filter. Built into the projector's lamp system, the Cinema Filter is a crucial component in achieving a wide colour gammut and colour purity. This innovative technology is able to optically adjust the three primary light colours (Red, Green and Blue) with exceptional balance and precision for incredibly accurate colour reproduction.
Powerful lens shifting and zoom ratio

Technology that ensures the projector delivers a best fit for your lifestyle
To ensure the EMP-TW1000 fits perfectly into your home cinema, it has been designed with vertical and horizontal lens shift capabilities for easy positioning well off–centre. With these capabilities, the projector can be positioned up to nearly two screen widths laterally and three screens vertically without altering the image shape or compromising image quality.
Adding further to the flexible positioning capabilities of the EMP-TW1000 is a powerful 2.1 wide zoom ratio and short focus lens, which increases the range of set up possibilities, by allowing for movement both forward and back in relation to the screen. With the short focus lens, the projector can project a massive 100–inch screen from as close as three metres.
Full 10–bit colour processing

Capable of reproducing a massive 1.07 billion colours
As a world leader in the development and manufacture of projector LCDs, Epson is constantly at the forefront of delivering projectors that stand out from the crowd — and the Epson EMP-TW1000 is one more example of this. With 10–bit colour processing capabilities, the EMP-TW1000 is capable of reproducing a massive 1.07 billion colours for incredibly rich expression and smooth gradation.
1080p HD ready

The world's leading digital video standard
With 1080 pixel progressive scan (1080p), the EMP-TW1000 delivers the highest possible high–definition video output currently available. In contrast to earlier 720p projector models, which can display only 921,600 pixels, the EMP-TW1000 displays an astounding 2,073,600 pixels!
The EMP-TW1000's 1080p is exactly the same as that used in the commercial filming of digital motion pictures, such as Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Essentially, it's the world's leading digital video standard in your own home cinema.
Advanced lens and optical engine

Reduced flare and high resolving power
A major contributing factor to the EMP-TW1000's exceptional video quality is a new optical engine that reduces the colour aberration noticeable in earlier models. With a large aperture and Extra–low Dispersion lens, which is multi–coated to diffuse reflection, the EMP-TW1000 delivers crystal clear images with high contrast levels.
Of particular note is the increase in number of micro lenses from 32 to 60. With each of the small lenses illuminating the LCD panels, there is a greater uniformity of lighting and dramatically improved evenness of colour.
Crystal Clear Fine 3LCD technology

World–leading projector video display technology
At the heart of the EMP-TW1000 is Epson's world–leading Crystal Clear Fine 3LCD technology. This advanced projection system uses three individual LCD panels to give form to images with silky smooth movement and fresh, natural colours.
Bright, vibrant colours and unequalled image quality are characteristics of Crystal Clear Fine 3LCD technology, with the EMP-TW1000 delivering outstanding results in any home cinema environment.
Due to 3LCD's incredibly efficient use of light, in combination with a 170W E–TORL lamp, the EMP-TW1000 achieves quiet operating levels, exceptional image clarity and a flicker–free display. Importantly, it's Epson's Crystal Clear Fine 3LCD Panel that optimises the display of high–definition images from the latest technologies, including High Definition Broadcasting, Blu–ray and HD–DVD.
Flexible connectivity

For easy setup in virtually any home cinema environment
One of the many advantages of the EMP-TW1000 in a home cinema environment is its wide range of connectivity features. With HDMI (ver 1.3), Component Video, Composite Video, S–Video, RS232C, PC and Trigger Out connection ports, the EMP-TW1000 can be quickly configured effortlessly for virtually any home cinema, regardless of its A/V source.
HDMI 1.3

The latest version of the HDMI standard for resolutions up to 1920x1080 pixels.
One of the core technologies included in the EMP-TW1000 is a version 1.3 HDMI terminal, the latest version of the HDMI (High–Definition Multimedia Interface) standard that allows high–definition digital video and multichannel digital audio to be sent over a single cable. With version 1.3 built into the EMP-TW1000, home cinema enthusiasts get precisely what's been needed for true digital high–definition — a 10.2Gbps bandwidth, which delivers better high–definition images and outstanding audio.
By taking full advantage of the enormous bandwidth capabilities offered by HDMI version 1.3, the EMP-TW1000 has been designed to display at resolutions up to 1920x1080 pixels (1080p), which is the highest resolution HD signal currently available.
Six Colour Modes

Optimising colour and brightness for every occasion
Featuring six separate colour modes, the EMP-TW1000 is easily and quickly configured for optimum brightness and contrast in a range of environments. From the Dynamic Colour Mode, which is ideal for even brightly lit rooms, right down to Theatre Black 2 mode for the warmth and depth of cinema–like images, the EMP-TW1000 delivers superb image and colour fidelity.
The widescreen experience

The truly widescreen experience
When it comes to a truly big screen experience, Epson home cinema projectors deliver virtually incomparable performance. Forget about other display technologies if you're really looking for image sizes that are bigger than life itself. For big screens of 2 metres wide or more, the EMP-TW1000 is perfect, adding enormously to every widescreen television show, DVD or video game. All this from a unit measuring only 406mm x 353mm x 143mm that can be installed on the ceiling or sitting on a small side table.
Six–axis colour adjustment

Total colour control
The EMP-TW1000 has been designed to provide home cinema enthusiasts with total control over their video output; and a powerful six–axis colour adjustment capability is crucial in achieving this. With the ability to adjust independently the hue and saturation for each of the RGBCMY colour components, the EMP-TW1000 can be adjusted precisely to your unique colour preferences.
