New DIGIC 4 Digital Image Processor
The PowerShot SX1 IS is powered by the new Canon's proprietary developed DIGIC 4 Digital Image Processor, which possesses high algorithm power capable of processing massive and complex image data in a shorter time span. Performance is improved by 30%, and brings forth speedily start-up time and quicker response time. DIGIC 4 also offers more functions, including 3 times faster face detection accuracy and tracking performances, 10 times quicker for motion detection, the Motion Detection Technology, i-Contrast correction and H.264 codec MOV format movie shooting supported.
DIGIC 4 also takes the noise reduction processing algorithms to the next level. The Auto ISO noise reduction capability further raises the limit to ISO 400 to further enhance the image quality. |
1080 Full HD H.264 Codec MOV Movie Shooting
Coupling with the more powerful DIGIC 4, PowerShot SX1 IS is the first Canon compact digital camera to support Full HD movie recording, which can create 1,920 x 1,080 high definition 30fps movie clips.
It also supports H.264 codec MOV movie shooting which provides more efficient data compressing algorithm than normal AVI format while the file size is only equivalent to 60% of the AVI format, maintaining high image quality yet smaller compression file size.
Meanwhile, the camera is equipped with stereo microphone and its sampling frequency reaches 44.100KHz audio quality. Canon's Ultrasonic Motor (USM) combines with Voice Coil Motor (VCM) technology for silent operation, avoid noise created by mechanic operation, ensuring the best quality high definition movie with superb stereo sound quality. |

RAW recording*

Super 20x Optical Zoom IS Lens

Speedy & Silent USM and VCM technology

Intelligent ISO Speed Setting
