The new 10-megapixel High sensitivity CCD sensor enlarges the area of each pixel by approximately 45%#. It strengthens sensor's light-gathering capabilities and improves the signal to noise ratio greatly. The image quality and the noise control performance are enhanced even shooing with high ISO speed. Coupled with the high-speed data processing and powerful algorithm capability of DIGIC 4 Digital Image Processor, the Dual Anti-Noise System is achieved to enhance the high effectiveness of noise reduction when shooting with high ISO speed or long exposure setting.
In addition, the new CCD also provides greater dynamic range. Even in scenes having large differences in contrast, fine and detailed images can be captured regardless of shooting portrait or night theme and scenery.
